I would like to share with you in what way immune system can beat diseases and why we can have diseases and then let you judge for yourself which and which.
To understand why we have diseases we must know our body is vulnerable to microbe invasion and can be highly infectious to diseases and even cancer.
Have you ever wondered why some people often fall sick with flu, cold, stomach discomfort and cough? Or why some people can recover more quickly while others often take longer or never can recover fully?
Many people are not aware that the air we breathe, the surface we touch and the foods that we eat are always teeming with dust, fungi, pollutants, parasites, and germs like viruses and bacteria that caused diseases that made us sick. Luckily, our body has a sophisticated immune system that can protect us! Despite the marvels of science, the immune system is still the best doctor in the world simply because it is more potent and effective than any drug, yet it is so natural without causing any harmful side effects! In a layman term, the immune system is a complex network of white blood cells, antibodies, and other immune chemicals and organs that offer the human body an around the clock protection against diseases invaders.
Many diseases are the result of a malfunctioning of the immune system or when our body immune system is weak. When our body immune system functions well, the white blood cells and the immune chemicals will work in harmony to confront the invaders thus enabling our body to defend effectively against many diseases, prevent viral infections, heal wounds, and kill cancerous cells.
Take for example, when there is a cut on our skin, the immune system will stop the entry of microbes like virus and bacteria and heal the wound. As for cancer prevention, a strong immune system will help to detect and defeat cell mutations.
In fact, cancer is a sign that our immune system is weak judging that cancer patients are easily afflicted with flu, coughs, and cold. We may not aware that although chemotherapy can be used to treat cancer, it can also weaken our body immune system at the same time. One thing that I would like to stress is that nutrition and drugs are not necessarily incompatible, rather, they are equally important and can complement each other to fight against diseases. Hence, when we fall sick, proper nutrition is important to ensure the immune system can help us to triumph over diseases and recuperate faster. We have to acknowledge the fact that even with the best medicine in the world, a quick and complete recovery from an illness is unlikely if our body immune system is weak.
To keep our body immune system working at an optimum level, we must have it nourished properly and adequately. The immune system needs the support of a healthy diet and also sufficient rest. Among the reasons why our immune system is malfunction included i) genetics, ii) radiation therapy or chemotherapy, iii) stress, iv) aging, v) unbalanced diet, and vi) excessive exercise.
After reading thus far, I will leave it to you whether the immune system is your best bet to beat diseases. As for me, the answer is yes provided that we don’t have a confused immune system (I will write and share more with you about this later).
Best,
Tan Kok Hui
